Check Questions

When are checks issued?
Sheridan's revenue checks are issued around the 25th of each month. If the 25th falls on a weekend or holiday, checks are issued on the following business day. For security purposes, dollar amounts are not given out over the phone or via email.

How do I update my address?
Please download the Change of Address Form and provide immediately. The Change of Address Form can be sent via email, fax or mailed to our Land Administration Department.

Does Sheridan offer Direct Deposit?
Yes, we offer Direct Deposit through our third party vendor, SunGard. You can initiate Direct Deposit by registering online with SunGard's PayNetExchange system, which can be accessed at:

https://signup.paynetexchange.com/VendorSite/login.aspx

You will need the Registration code printed on your current month's check detail to complete the registration. Please note you will no longer receive payment detail statements by mail. Allow up to two pay cycles for direct deposit to take effect.

Who do I call if I'm having difficulties setting up my Direct Deposit online?
Please contact SunGard PayNetExchange at 1.877.330.4950 or visit their website https://signup.paynetexchange.com/VendorSite/login.aspx for further assistance.

What is Sheridan's minimum check ammount?
Checks are not issued until the royalty payment amount reaches a minimum of $100. However, in March of each year, checks are issued for royalty payments that amount to $10 or more.

How do I get a copy of my check detail history?
Check detail history can be viewed at SunGard PayNetExchange if an account is set up with SunGard. To set up account, visit:

http://signup.paynetexchange.com/VendorSite/login.aspx

You will need your latest check detail to set up an account.

How do I avoid backup withholding?
Please provide a completed W-9 Form if you do not want backup withholding taken out of your check. Federal law requires you to provide your social security or taxpayer identification number. Failure to comply wil result in tax withholding in accordance with federal law, which is not refundable by Sheridan. In addition, some states withold taxes (e.g., Oklahoma).

Joint Interest Billing Questions

How do I get my invoices electronically?
Visit http://www.energylink.com/ or call EnergyLink at 1.888.573.3364.

I did not receive my statement for this month.
Log into EnergyLink to view your invoices. JIBs less than $5.00 are not mailed out.

We sold some of the properties on our JIBs, why are we still getting invoices?
Please provide a copy of the Deed or other conveyance instrument evidencing the sale, recorded in the county/parish where the property is located. Documentation can be sent via email, fax or mailed to our Land Administration Department as outlined on the "Contact Us" tab.

Where should my JIB payment be sent?

Ownership Questions

What do I need to provide if I have sold my interest or I have purchased someone's interest?
Please provide a copy of the following:

  • Conveyance document evidencing the sale or purchase, recorded in the county/parish where the property is located
  • W-9 Form for new owner(s)

I want to receive payment under my Trust or have made changes to my Trust. What documents do you need?
To receive payment under my Trust, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Trust Agreement
  • Conveyance document recorded in the county/parish where the property is located
  • W-9 Form for Trust

For changes to Trustee, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Trust Agreement
  • Death Certificate of Trustee (if applicable)
  • W-9 Form for the Trust, updated with new Trustee

Trust has been dissolved or interest sold, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Dissolution of Trust
  • Conveyance document recorded in the county/parish where the property is located
  • W-9 Form

What do I need to provide if someone has died?
Ownership changes due to death vary by state and whether or not the descendant had a Will.

If the owner had a Will and probate proceedings have occurred, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Death Certificate
  • Last Will and Testament recorded in the county/parish where the property is located
  • Order Admitting Will to Probate recorded in the county/parish where the property is located
  • Letters Testamentary recorded in the county/parish where the property is located
  • Judgment of Possession recorded in the parish where the property is located (Louisiana properties)
  • Final Decree of Distribution recorded in the county where the property is located (Oklahoma properties)
  • W-9 Form for each heir

If the owner had a Will and probate proceedings will NOT occur, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Death Certificate
  • Last Will and Testament
  • Two notarized Affidavit of Death & Heirship forms completed by two disinterested parties. Both forms must be recorded in the county/parish the property is located
  • W-9 Form for each heir

If the owner did NOT have a Will and probate proceedings have occurred, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Death Certificate
  • Distribution of Heirship, Final Decree or other court documents evidencing final distribution recorded in the county/parish the property is located
  • W-9 Form for each heir

If the owner did NOT have a Will and probate proceedings will NOT occur, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Death Certificate
  • Two notarized Affidavit of Death & Heirship forms completed by two disinterested parties. Both forms must be recorded in the county/parish the property is located
  • W-9 Form for each heir

For an Estate to receive payment in the interim, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Death Certificate
  • Letters Testamentary or Letters of Administration
  • W-9 Form for the Estate including the Estate TIN


If the owner had a Life Estate, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Death Certificate
  • W-9 Form (s) for each Remainderman

If the owner died and was a Joint Tenant, With Rights of Survivorship, please provide a copy of the following:

  • Death Certificate

What documentation do I need to provide in the event of a divorce?
Please provide a copy of the following:

Deed recorded in the county/parish where the property is located

  • Divorce Decree
  • Property Settlement
  • W-9 Form evidencing new name

What do I provide if I have a name change?
Please provide a copy of the following, as applicable:

  • Marriage Certificate
  • Divorce Decree
  • Court documents showing the name change
  • W-9 Form evidencing new name

Additional documentation may be required after all documentation provided has been reviewed.
The owner/heirs are responsible for recording fees. Please contact the applicable county/parish for recording fee information.

1099 Questions

When are 1099's issued?
1099's are issued on January 31st of each year.

I did not receive my 1099, how can I get a replacement 1099?
Send an email to 1099@sheridanproduction.com with the following information - Owner Name, Owner Number and last four digits of your Social Security Number.

I moved recently and did not receive my 1099. How do I get a replacement 1099?
Send an email to 1099@sheridanproduction.com with the following information - Owner Name, Owner Number and last four digits of your Social Security Number. In addition to the requested information, please complete the Change of Address Form so that we can update your address for future correspondence.

I would like my 1099 sent to a third party(i.e... CPA, family member). What do I do?
Please complete the 1099 Authorization Form and email the completed signed form to
1099@sheridanproduction.com.

Why does my 1099 not match my check amount?
The 1099 reflects gross amounts prior to deductions and taxes.

Why did I not receive a 1099?
There are several reasons why you may not receive a 1099 including:

  • You received no royalties in that calendar year
  • You received under the minimum royalty threshold of $10
  • We do not have your current mailing address
  • 1099s are not issued to corporations or exempt organizations
